Noho never sleeps

In case you had an image of Noho as a glamorous downtown scene, here is my stoop.

And in case you thought it was a quiet little backwater, think again. There's partying in the streets till 3. Then the drilling begins at 6 or 7.

Let's not even talk about the fragrance from this baby.

Someday it will be glamorous, quiet and sweet-smelling—when the city finally finishes its water-main installation project, which has been going on for three years outside my door, and provides affordable housing, decent schooling and jobs.
